3 Ways to Make More Money Online. And How to Download a FREE Guide. I’m Starting #2 this month!

by Nick on March 5, 2014

how to make more money online2014 is my year of online income.

I’ve blogged for a bunch of years now, but more as a hobby. I’m about to start a plan to have a more profitable online presence.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to pump this website with more advertising boxes that cut apart the posts or “linkie” ads where you can’t scroll around the screen without some popup with the smallest, and moving, “x” that basically requires you to throw your computer out in order to not see anymore.

But it doesn’t take a blog or a “following” to make money online.

Here are three quick ways to get started:

1. Do stuff for other people.

Yes, it’s as simple as it sounds.  This will be different for everyone, but there are things you can do in 1 minute that it would take me 30 minutes to do. Sell those services. I will pay for them.

If it’s truly a few-minute project for you, try fiverr.com. Do it for 5 bucks. If it takes longer, break it up or add extras. Or go to other freelancing websites like elance.com and odesk.com and do the same thing.

Network online through Facebook groups and get to know people. Offer free advice. Be generous. Show your expertise. And people will become paying customers there, too.

2. Coach other people.

Are people asking you for advice in a certain area? If so, it might be time to start charging for that advice. There are thousands of different types of coaches, from life coaches, to parenting, marriage, career, software, blogging, writing, public speaking, etc. You name it.

If people are constantly asking you how you have succeeded in an area and seeking your guidance, that’s a good sign that you can market and charge for your coaching. Don’t just limit yourself to one-on-one coaching. You can do group coaching, online tutorial, live seminars, video webinars, teleseminars, and more. You can write short guides, or long books about it. The list goes on.

The bottom line is that if you are committed to helping others do what you do well, coaching is a great way to make money and help others achieve their goals. When structured well, a coaching practice can be incredibly profitable.

And several online tools can make it super easy to coach people all over the world! I’m about to launch a coaching business myself. I’ll blog about it as I go to share resources and tips.

3. Sell other people’s stuff.

I use a lot of really great products or services. Back in the day, salespeople used to carry briefcases full of catalogs of products they could sell. They might go door to door, offering types of products like vacuum cleaners or other household products. If someone placed an order they got a commission.

The Internet has added a new dimension to this.

Now you can start a good-looking website in less than the time it takes you to watch an episode of How I Met Your Mother, even fast forwarding through the commercials and dumb parts.  Yes, all the dumb parts.

Once you’re up and running, you can sign up for affiliate programs that give you a unique link to let the company know that the person buying it came through you. The customer won’t pay more for the product, you earn a commission, they didn’t have to do the homework because you did and let them know about it, and the company sells more products. Everyone wins.

Social media took this to an even greater level. Now, you don’t even need a blog to sell other people’s stuff, although it helps. Social media accounts can be a great way to start promote products you love to people who could use them!

Start promoting products and services that you use to people who will value your opinion. Just like a door-to-door salesperson, you need to prove that you are trustworthy and not just pump out a bunch of crap because you might get one commission a month.

But with a good product mix and a demonstrated knowledge about the industry, products, or services you provide, you can start making money selling other people’s stuff quickly. Do it with a heart for helping others and this can be a win-win-win.

That’s it for now!

There are a TON more ways to make money online. I’ll be exploring several in a book I’m writing, along with detailed resources and step-by-step guides to getting started in each of them.

If you want to be in on the latest news with the book – and get to download a copy for FREE before it goes on sale (towards the end of this year) – just sign up in the form below!

If you’re on the list when the book is done you’ll get to download a copy for free!

I’ll be sharing content along the way and will have a bunch of extra freebies for the folks on the list!

What’s your favorite way to make more money using the internet?

I think I’ll go with the first and the last one to earn money online. I’m not good at coaching, so I had to pick those.

I think third is the best option. Also, you can use blogging; this is very good to earn money online. You can see many other ways for earning online money at Empower Network. Here, you can get 100% commission.

I find selling things online is fairly easy to do. But blogging has its benefits as well. It’s a lot of hard work in the beginning with very little (if any return) but if you stick with it and continue to grow, you can make money doing it.

I have certainly found it isn’t hard to make a little side income online. I have thought about doing coaching (perhaps 1-2 engagements per month).

I already do affiliate marketing on my site, and that seems to be a sweet spot that gives a good return for the effort put forth.

It’s true, you don’t need a blog or a following to make money online, but it sure helps if you’re looking to make passive income. To reference your point #1, I used to freelance a lot and it can be very stressful in times when you can’t work or don’t have jobs lining up.

There are a billion ways to make money online, it seems, as long as you have some patience and build up a solid reputation for doing good work. I’ve been working at online income for a really long time.

One thing that I have never really gotten the hang of is selling my stuff. I don’t know if I would be able to handle other people’s!

I have yet to find an effective way to compete in websites like Elance or Odesk. The thing is, there are people who are willing to work for a mere $3 an hour and they do produce good results sometimes, so I think it’s difficult to make sustainable income there.

Great info here for those looking to get started. We’ve had success with affiliate marketing, although putting together an informational product can be another great source of income that we are considering.
