5 more random thoughts

by Nick on January 19, 2012

In another mood to share a few more random thoughts in light of this morning’s post

  1. Stop holding grudges.  You’re not accomplishing anything.  I’m not saying to become BFFs (as the kids say), but just let go of the animosity.  You don’t even have to get back in touch.  Just let go of the grudge.  Cool?  It’s true that, by definition, time heals all wounds.  Unfortunately for some, they hold on to grudges until they die.  That’s a long time.
  2. If you’re one of those “I like to try new things” people – you know, the really cool adventurous ones – and you’re broke, try something new with your finances.
  3. Take a break.  Just get up and walk around for 5 minutes.  You can probably do it right now.  I’ll still be here with two more thoughts when you return.  Go ahead.  I’m going to do it right now too.
  4. OK.  I’m back.  Who cares how much baseball players make?  I get, understand and agree with the philosophically that, at least with respect to the “they throw balls” part of their job, they are grossly overpaid, but at the end of the day I have more important things to worry about.  Go to a minor league game with your kid if you’re upset about ticket prices.  I know it’s not the same, but perfect is the enemy of good.  Your kid just wants your attention for 3 hours.  They don’t care about the game.
  5. Call the person you love the most and let them know how special they are to you and one reason why.  You’ll feel just as good as they do.

OK – now get back to work!

Until next time, put your credit card down and slowly step away from the mall!
